Hong Yip’s Continuous Effort on Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation
Won BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards - Silver and Bronze Prize

Hong Yip Service Company Limited was awarded the Silver Prize and Bronze Prize for its managed properties “Valais” and “Wonderland Villas” respectively in the “BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards 2019 Prize Presentation and 2020 Launching Ceremony”.

The silver-winning management team of “Valais” are always proactive in environmental protection and sustainable energy implementation, and keep exploring the feasibility of the utilization of solar energy. Through the “Solar Energy Assessment Service” provided by China Light & Power Company Syndicate (CLP), it was concluded that the solar energy coverage was 94% with low shading effect. To treasure such valuable resources, the team have installed 27 pieces of solar panels on the rooftop of the clubhouse together with the power invertor and real-time monitoring system so as to join the “Feed-in-Tariff” scheme launched by CLP. Apart from that, they implemented a lot of solar-powered equipment to assist their daily operation, such as landscaping lightings, CCTV cameras, mosquito killers and mobile irrigation system. They have also set up a farm at the clubhouse rooftop, using self-made fertilizer from food waste. The harvests will be served in the clubhouse restaurant and sometimes as gifts for the residents.

As for “Wonderland Villas”, the management team always progressively promotes the concept of green living with integration of sustainable green management in daily operation. Through organizing various activities like story-telling and book crossing program, clean recycling, re-use and recycle of waste for wood paint and citrus re-planting, exhibition of butterfly ecology and further phase of food waste recycling program, the residents can experience the lifestyle of “Think Green. Live Green”.

Hong Yip strives to extending green environment in daily property management work. A wide range of green initiatives are adopted from reduction of carbon emissions to enhancement of source of disposal waste, horticulture, air quality, e-procurement and green promotion aiming at achieving a sustainable environment. Hong Yip has long supported with Environment Bureau’s Charter on External Lighting and Energy Saving Charter on Indoor Temperature to further reduce the energy consumption.
