Hong Yip Holdings Limited (Hong Yip) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) on 18 January to strengthen their partnership and co-operation.
The MOU was signed by Hong Yip Chairman and Chief Executive Ir Alkin Kwong Ching-wai and HKMU Council Chairman Ir Dr Conrad Wong Tin-cheung. Hong Yip and HKMU will deepen their collaboration in curriculum design and implementation, student internships and career development, applied research, service learning, mentorship programmes, and development projects for students’ capstone work.
At the signing ceremony, Ir Kwong remarked, “Hong Yip, sharing the same core value with HKMU, has always been supporting the diversified development of local university students and promoting innovative technology advancement. This MOU facilitates a deeper and more diversified cooperation between Hong Yip and HKMU to work together for the better future of the young generation, nurturing talent for the industry and bringing a new momentum to Hong Kong in the long run.”
Ir Dr Wong said, “HKMU is committed to offering top quality professional programmes that are tailored to meet industry needs and provide students with clear career paths.” He added that HKMU will further strengthen its ties with various industries to nurture future talent together.
Over the years, Hong Yip has been working closely with HKMU. Three of the University’s Schools previously signed MOUs with Hong Yip Service Co Ltd. HKMU has been offering training courses for Hong Yip on sports and recreation management, civil and building services engineering, and property management, and Hong Yip has been providing internship and management training opportunities for HKMU students in its shopping malls and residential buildings. The new agreement will deepen the relationship between HKMU and Hong Yip and reflects the determination of both parties to explore more innovative ideas for collaboration.
