Hong Yip has been actively responding to environmental protection for many years, supporting Hong Kong's Climate Action Plan 2050 and striving to achieve the goal of “carbon neutrality” by 2050. In July we invited the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) to attend our "Occupational Safety, Health cum Environmental Conference 2022" held at Sun Hung Kai Centre in Wan Chai to kick off the one-stop reliable recycling service “GREEN COLLECT” together, and share the community's environmental recycling experience, enhancing the environmental awareness of our staff.
Mr. Alkin Kwong, Chairman and Chief Executive of Hong Yip, remarked at the event, "Hong Yip attaches great importance to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), incorporates sustainable development elements into the core of its corporate strategy, and has formulated four sustainable development pillars, including ‘Caring for the community’, ‘Synergetic Partnership’, ‘Sustainable environment’ and ‘Innovative Legacy’. Through good governance and risk management, Hong Yip achieves sustainable development and moves towards a greener and more harmonious community in the long run."
Hong Yip actively participates in the new "GREEN COLLECT" one-stop reliable recycling service launched by the EPD. The recycling service is fully promoted in a total of more than 40,000 units in 24 large housing estates, covering a total of 9 service areas in the program and collecting at least 8 types of recyclables, including plastics, waste paper, metals, glass, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lamps and tubes, regulated electrical equipments (REE), and small electrical appliances. It is expected that when the EPD further expands the service scope, Hong Yip will respond quickly to expand the coverage as well. By encouraging residents to participate in clean recycling, we can actively implement smart recycling, strengthen waste management and build a better living environment.
As a property management service provider, Hong Yip has implemented sustainable development policies, and takes "Service for Tomorrow" as its long-term goal, which is promoted by seven core areas named "SERVICE", including "Social”, "Environment”, "Risk Management”, "Vendor”, "Innovation”, "Customer” and “Employee''. With these seven cores, Hong Yip will continue to strengthen its own resilience in environmental, social and economic aspects, pursue sustainable growth, practice the sustainability value and commitment of our parent company, Sun Hung Kai Properties, aiming to provide a better living environment, create a higher quality of life and build a healthier and more harmonious community.
