Energy Saving Championship Scheme

 

Organized by the Environment Bureau and EMSD , Hong Yip is honored to achieve 7 awards in the Energy Saving Championship Scheme including Hanson Outstanding Award won by Mikiki in the shopping mall category. The purpose of the scheme is to recognise the winners in the adoption of energy efficient technologies and equipment, application of operational optimisation of energy consuming systems (i.e. retro-commissioning), development of best practices in energy management and promotion of energy saving among tenants and occupants.
Mikiki obtained ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certification since 2013. The team formed an environmental energy conservation taskforce in order to enhance green performance in the process of implementation, follow up and review the energy saving targets annually. In addition, Mikiki proactively encourages its tenants to participate in environmental protection and energy saving activities by inviting them to join the self-developed “Quality Management Scheme”. In recent years, the team collects and reuse condensation water from air handling units and fan coil units for cooling the intake air of the car park to reduce the temperature of intake air by 3–5°C in summer. Hence, it can reduce the energy consumption.
