Significant achievements in Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence

In the 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, Hong Yip won numerous awards. With outstanding performance in environmental management, Mikiki and Aria won Bronze Award in Property Management Commercial & Industrial and Residential category respectively. Tsuen Wan Plaza actively promotes and encourages staff, tenants and residents to take part in environmental measures, Tsuen Wan Plaza eventually won the Outstanding Green Leadership Award. Hong Yip’s consistence in upholding environmental protection was awarded with the 10th Anniversary Special Awards. This undoubtedly proves the remarkable success of Hong Yip in environmental management.

 

Aria established the Green Marks Reward Scheme to provide continuous green living to residents, and encouraged enrolled housing estates to hold environmental protection activities, granting food and beverage coupons as rewards. Moreover, Aria collects leftover food from residents, which will then be transformed by food waste composters into organic fertilizer for the estate’s gardens, as a way to promote green living. In addition, when the indoor heated pool is closed, the management staff covers the water surface with insulation blankets to reduce heat loss. Mikiki assembled a task force to set annual energy conservation targets and conduct regular follow-ups and reviews. Furthermore, Mikiki’s tenants were invited to join the Quality Management Charter – a set of eco-friendly principles formulated by the mall, as to encourage the participation of tenants in environmental protection and energy saving.
