Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Award

The Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Award organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, Labour Department and 10 other institutes, aims to recognize organizations with outstanding achievement in the field of occupational safety and health and to allow the winning entries to share their valuable experiences. The Award also aims to promote best practices and successful strategies in various aspects of OSH, which in turn can help to improve organizations' competitiveness and productivity, and at the same time gaining recognition from customers, suppliers, shareholders and counterparts.

There are 4 categories: Safety Management System Award, Safety Performance Award, Safety Technological Achievement Award and Safety enhancement Program Award. A total of 56 organizations entered for the Award, including public utilities, building contractors, property management, hospitals and banks, etc. They had to undergo 3 rounds of assessments, namely initial examination, on-site verification and final judgement.

The Award Forum and Presentation ceremony was held on 10 June, 2002 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Although the competition was the first of its kind for Hong Yip Service Co. Ltd., the result turned out to be great success. The awards won included Safety Management System (Bronze Trophy) and the Best Presentation (Silver Trophy).
