Hong Yip won “Age-Friendly Employer Award” under Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnerhsip Scheme 2022

Hong Yip is honoured to receive the “Age-Friendly Employer Award” under Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnerhsip Scheme 2022. We are also the only company in the property management and facility sector to have won this award, recognizing our continuous efforts in promoting elderly employment.

For years, Hong Yip has been supporting elderly employment by providing job opportunities through various channels, including the Employees Retraining Board's "Post-50 Internship Programme". Elderly employees generally possess optimistic attributes. In view of this, we have extended the official retirement age for frontline staff to 70 years of age by offering them positions as contractual consultants, trainers or auditors in different departments according to their professional capabilities and experience. In this way they can pass on Hong Yips’ corporate culture, knowledge and experience to the next generation of employees. Currently, more than 1,000 of our staff are aged over 60.

In addition, our "Mentorship Training Programme", equivalent to Qualifications Framework Level 3, was launched in 2010 with an aim to groom our senior employees to become mentors who can help coach new joiners on corporate culture and daily operations, allowing them to integrate themselves into the new working environment with ease. To monitor its effectiveness, we appoint our retired employees as mentors of the programme. Upon the completion of the auditor training, regular assessments on the performance and abilities of new joiners will be carried out to give them feedback and recommendations for continuous improvements.

This award serves as an encouraging recognition that motivates us to strive on with our best efforts to promote elderly employment, develop an age-friending culture and continuously build an age-friendly environment in our community.
