Hong Yip creates a new era of Carbon-Free Green Office with the Purchase of CLP Renewable Energy Certificates of local renewable energy for next 10 years

Hong Yip always puts forward the concept of a sustainable green city. In line with its parent company Sun Hung Kai Properties’ commitment to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), the Company promotes the use of renewable energy and reduces carbon emissions. In this regard, Hong Yip has committed to purchase electricity of local renewable energy from CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP) for the next 10 years, which is equivalent to a reduction of around 240 tonnes in carbon emissions, associated to the amount of carbon dioxide removed by planting over 10,000 trees.

With the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the basic electricity consumed at Hong Yip’s “Occupational Safety, Health cum Environmental Conference 2021” held at Sun Hung Kai Centre in Wan Chai earlier was all offset, making it Hong Yip’s first net-zero training activity for staff to fully experience a 100% “Carbon-Free” green office environment.

Apart from the purchase of RECs, Hong Yip has also implemented a series of environmental measures for energy saving and introduced different applications robot applications in daily operational work, so as to enhance resource efficiency and extend the scope of smart property management to achieve sustainability in the long run.
